For years, it seems Florida Gators loyalists, players and rookies have demanded and are now on the verge of receiving the oft-coveted all-black uniforms, signaling a changing of the guard with the new regime under the head coach. Billy Napier, the head coach said Sports Illustrated Richard Johnson recently.
These uniforms, of course, will not replace the already standard orange, white and blue as permanent gear, but will be just another alternative for the Florida football team that is sure to get people excited. watching them play on Saturday.

Napier says while he doesn’t think Jordan Brand will be able to make that wish come true this year, the uniform kit is definitely slated for 23.
“We’re going to wear black uniforms here at the University of Florida,” Napier said via Johnson.
“But every single one of these uniforms that we wear, we’re going to auction them off, and we’re going to sell them and take the money and we’re going to give it to families who may have had some type of injury and setback and are going through a slightly different way of life due to their military service and failure.
A Gators track team dressed in black is nothing new. The Florida basketball team has been donning the unis for a while now, and now it looks like the football team is getting their own wishes granted, after rumors spread over the past few years that it would eventually materialize at some point.
In 2019, Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin was quick to dismiss the idea of wearing black via social media. Now, it looks like that’s about to change even though Napier, a self-confessed traditionalist, is leading the charge.
